How do you plan for life after work? What do you expect? How is it going? This course is for everyone interested in how to live the next chapter of their lives after work. We share our stories, and what we have learned. As an input we read about and discuss the experiences of retired folks who are busy with projects, traveling, or are still working and take a look at new retirement trends. A friendly and interesting get-together with language practice and teacher moderation and feedback.

Discussing the texts, the cultural context and messages behind the songs will provide you with an enjoyable learning experience through the power of music. Come join us and sing along!

This practical, hands-on, baking class conducted in English, will introduce you to typical baked items that originate from the four UK nations. You will work in pairs or small groups and follow recipes under guided tuition, to prepare and bake at least two items from a selection such as Welsh cakes, English Bakewell tarts, Scottish Shortbread and Irish barmbrack. The session will finish with a sampling of the baked items, enjoyed with a cup of tea! The course tutors are Maureen Breeze of It’s a Breeze Baking, who will be visiting from England to teach the class, along with Vivienne Arnold. Make sure to bring a box to take home any delicious leftovers!

This semester we will read J.B. Priestley's classic play " An Inspector Calls". By analysing and discussing the social issues and characters and in various activities  you will expand your vocabulary and practice conversation skills. Then we will watch the film adaptation giving you a chance to compare play and film.

Reading and sharing your thoughts about what you’ve read is simply a wonderful way to not only keep up your English, but to stay in touch with the world of images and ideas. Selected with an eye towards variety as well as public recognition, each book will be read and then discussed for two pleasant and inspiring evenings. Please try to read the whole book by the time we have our first session so you can freely share your thoughts and impressions.

Ground lentils and rice paste turned into delicious crispy dosas and vadas! South Indian vegetarian delicacies enchant your senses with chutneys, savoury fillings, mixed ground spice flavours, sauces and soups and a rich variety of rice. Have a chance to improve your English whilst cooking a delicious Indian meal! Bring a dish cloth and an apron and don´t forget your favourite drink to go with the food as well as a couple of plastic boxes in case you want to take extra food home.
