B2+ The US Elections

Our comprehensive B2 + level course is designed to use short texts, videos, images, and scripts to generate balanced discussions on different aspects and areas of the US government and its elections. What appeals to the majority of Republican, Democrat, or independent voters? What are each party’s official positions on different aspects of life? We will also examine the US elections’ influence on Europe and the world. The discussions will be based on contemporary themes and topics as the course will take place during the period of the 2024 US presidential elections. Topics could change depending on events.

B2+ What is the impact on the world, what does it mean for other countries?

At noon on January 20th, a president will be sworn in on the steps of the US Capitol. Will it be Biden or Trump, or perhaps even Kamala Harris (if Biden were elected but unable to assume the duties of the president, for example)? Will it remain peaceful? What will it mean for Germany, the EU, China, and the current conflicts in Ukraine and Palestinian territories if Biden or Trump are elected? Has there been a "Trump Effect" in Europe over the past decade?
